"It's not a case of what you look at, but more of what you see".

Hi, I do hope you enjoy/ed viewing my photos. Apart from this web site I also have a Blog where I have about 100 helpful photography tips. If you are interested in taking a look at them, use the following link...http://blog.fergiesfabfotos.com I keep the Blog not only for an instructional tool for my www.betterphoto.com (Photo critiquing and discussion) Club, "Friends for Finer Photography"(FFFP) but also for anyone who may be interested in seeking out new ways of shooting photographs from a variety of different and challenging situations.
Our club (FFFP), is open to anyone wishing to join and its members are people from all walks of life and from different parts of the world, but with a common interest, to improve their photography skills.
Members can upload photos and have them critiqued and they can also get involved in our monthly shooting challenge, Monthly Theme (MT), designed to get you out there, doing new things and finding all sorts of different subjects. If you are interested, please let me know via my "contact" page.

I suppose what really got me into serious photography, was purchasing my first SLR, 35mm camera, which was a Pentax MZ50 and being the sort of person who likes to be in control of most situations, I became more and more inquisitive about this camera and wanted to learn more about its manual operation. Well, didn't that open up a can of worms for me? That was in 1999 and I am writing this at about the same time of year in 2007. Just eight short years and in that time I have accumulated more books and equipment than some folks would get in a life time.
It was about the time when I purchased my first SLR, that digital really started to get going, but as I never owned a computer until just a couple of years ago, I wasn't too interested. But I soon discovered that I was being left behind. So I set myself up with a computer, editing programs like Photoshop and Picasa3, scanner and printer (I now have three printers and have also added a laptop to the collection). Then, to add insult to injury Pentax came up with what I consider to be the ideal camera for me, the digital K100D. With that I can now still work with all of my old lenses and I have since added to my collection a Pentax 100mm 2.8 Macro lens, which I can fit other magnifying lenses to. With all that you'd think I'd be able to make better pictures, but they keep telling me, the camera doesn't make the photographer, although I'm sure it helps.
My problem is, that I am my own worst critic and I cannot see in my images what others can. Yet, I have been summoned on the odd occasion to judge the photos of the members of our local camera club and I don't seem to have any problem with that. It is only my own that I seem to have trouble with. All that aside, I hope you enjoy what I have to offer. "Happy snapping!"
